Why CreativePOP?

Low student-to-tutor ratio

Students interact intensively with their classmates and instructors and form meaningful, lasting relationships.

Play and activity-based learning

Our students experiment, have fun, take initiative and are active participants in their own learning journey.

Passionate and excited tutors

Our tutors are college students and recent grads from diverse backgrounds who can enrich students' creative experiences and act as their role models.

Student-centered curriculum

We prioritize students' self-expression, independence of thought, sharing and gaining of confidence in their own ideas.

What does it mean

to teach "creativity"?

Everybody has the capacity for creativity if they are trained from a young age to be aware of the vast possibilities out there in the world - and within their own minds.

As much as creativity is about sharing one’s knowledge and craft to others, it is also an introspective skill, as the student gradually comes to know their strengths and values by considering what messages they want to convey through their work. And above all, creativity is resiliency – for the repeated exercise of brainstorming concepts, building rich stories and worlds, and shaping narratives all serve as a foundation to help students adapt to challenges and come up with innovative solutions to any problem.Β

All in all, we aim to accustom our students to the mindset of creating, which gets them into the habit of constantly experimenting, consulting in others’ perspectives, and learning from their mistakes. And of course, never forgetting to have fun along the way!

Influential people are the way they are due to their strong values and morals. In the CreativePOP classroom, we challenge students to reflect on their beliefs and express themselves thoughtfully in order to achieve their goals, while always standing up for others and doing the right thing.

We believe that in order to be an effective communicator, one first has to be an active listener. Through group discussions and collaborative projects, as well as an emphasis on fairness and equality in all our topics, students will learn the skills necessary to foster meaningful, lasting relationships built on loyalty and trust.

Where to Find Us

We are a growing platform, and always looking for new opportunities to expand our outreach. So though we will be adding new mediums as time goes on, if you like what you’re seeing so far, here are a few places and settings where you can join in on the fun and get to know us! See you soon in a POPSession πŸ™‚

Collaborator Events

These events truly bring the best of both worlds so don’t miss out on the magic we create in these joint workshops. In this format, we have organized classes in subjects such as painting, cooking, public speaking, acting, and more.

We don’t have a home of our own just yet, but we’ve been lucky to work with a range of local organizations who are keen to host our classes so we can see our wonderful students in person!

School Partnerships

Since 2021, we have begun forming relationships with schools in the Jakarta area, as providers of After-School Activities or arranging intensive, one-day weekend workshops.

We work closely with school administrators and our students to craft creative projects such as original plays, experimental recipes, innovative invention pitches, and more. These events are all about bringing new energy into familiar environments for our students – if you are interested in having CreativePOP come to your school, please contact us so we can discuss this further and get something started!

Zoom & Online

Zoom carried us through the lockdown, and though day-to-day activities have returned to the physical world, in many ways online communication is here to stay.

At CreativePOP, we especially love it not only for the convenience it offers but also the ease at which we can be connected with people even half a world away. Our POPPrograms are available virtually forΒ all who request it, and we will also be experimenting with other subject areas that are best explored online – such as (hint hint) language and conversation classes, or more…
